18m Geodesic Projection Dome for SG50 National Celebration at Sentosa

The SG50 campaign was a year-long nationwide celebration marking the 50th anniversary of Singapore’s independence. As a central hub for the festivities, Sentosa Island hosted a series of grand-scale public exhibitions, carnivals, and commemorative events that attracted millions of residents and international tourists.

GTS engineered a custom 18-meter diameter Geodesic Dome, offering over 250 square meters of pillar-free interior space. To facilitate the visual requirements, we integrated a specialized Dual-Surface Projection system:

• External Projection Mapping: The dome’s exterior functioned as a glowing spherical screen, serving as a landmark beacon for the event.

• Internal 360° Cinema: The interior was fitted with a high-gain, light-blocking liner to create a seamless immersive theater for over 200 guests. The robust steel framework was precision-calculated to support the weight of professional-grade 4K projectors and surround-sound audio systems, ensuring flawless performance throughout the exhibition.

The 18m Projection Dome became the event's most talked-about feature, blending advanced visual technology with industrial-grade modular architecture. It proved GTS’s capability to deliver high-tech, sensory environments for the world’s most innovative brands.
