Custom Structure for the High-Level Financial Summit at The Bund
CUSTOMIZED CASE
GTS

The Project Overview In May 2015, during a period of high-profile international financial dialogue in Shanghai, GTS was commissioned to provide a premier venue solution for a high-level meeting involving dignitaries from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and global financial sectors. The event took place at the historic Shanghai Clearing House, situated at the heart of the iconic Bund.
The Engineering Challenge The project required an architectural marvel: a structure that could sit atop the existing roof of the Clearing House. The roof featured a complex, non-standard geometry, making standard marquees impossible to use. Furthermore, the client demanded a 100% transparent design to ensure that the prestigious guests could enjoy an uninterrupted view of the Huangpu River and the Lujiazui skyline during the summit.
The Tailored Solution GTS delivered a fully bespoke modular framework through precision engineering:
Site-Specific Customization: We conducted 3D site measurements to ensure the tent legs and roof trusses perfectly matched the irregular contours of the Clearing House’s roof.
Full Transparency: Utilizing premium, high-clarity PVC covers, we created a "Crystal Palace" effect. This provided a climate-controlled, high-security environment without sacrificing the breathtaking historical views.
Heritage Protection: The entire system used specialized non-invasive anchoring to protect the integrity of the historic architecture.
The Result The project remains a benchmark for GTS’s ability to handle bespoke tent solutions in sensitive, high-profile urban environments. By tailoring the structure to the "special shape" of the venue, we provided a prestigious setting for international financial leaders, solidifying our reputation as a top-tier provider for global summits.
